Caterpillar – Retake

I got to thinking last night as I reviewed the photos of the caterpillar in my garden. I was using the macro lens, why wasn’t I able to get closer? I should be able to focus on him from just a few inches away, but while I was out there, I couldn’t focus that close.

I started exploring, and forturnately my willing subject was still chomping (this time on the fennel). He didn’t seem to mind me moving in for the shot. I let him eat my fennel, and he lets me take close ups.

The results today are much better I think.
